Wallet Notifications

Communicate effectively with your customers through notifications

Written by Farah Bahoui

Introduction

Notifications allow you to communicate directly with your customers through messages displayed on their mobile phones. They are a powerful tool to inform, engage, and guide your customers throughout their journey with your brand.

You can now send two types of notificationsstandard (sent to your installed cards base) or geolocated (triggered near your points of sale) — and directly measure the revenue generated by each one thanks to Push attribution.

Overview

From the Loyoly interface, you can create, manage, and track all your notification campaigns in one place. The list view now shows the campaign type (standard or geolocated push), its status, and the revenue attributed to each notification once activated.

Available filters

To make campaign management easier, several filters are available at the top right of the page:

  • Draft: displays notifications you have created but not yet activated.

  • Scheduled: shows notification campaigns planned for a later delivery.

  • Ongoing: groups geolocated campaigns currently active during their delivery period.

  • Completed: displays finished notifications that are no longer being sent.

Welcome notifications

Welcome notifications allow you to greet your customers as soon as they install your Wallet.

⚠️ Customers receive the welcome notification immediately after installing the card.

  • Title (50 characters)

The title is displayed in bold on your customers' phones. It should be short, clear, and compelling, encouraging users to discover your loyalty program.

  • Message (170 characters)

The message welcomes new members. You can use it to:

  • Say hello and thank them for joining

  • Briefly explain the value of your program

  • Invite them to explore available rewards or actions

Preview

A live preview is available on the right-hand side of the screen. It allows you to see exactly how the notification will appear on both iOS (Apple) and Android devices before sending it.

Send a test

Before sending a notification to all your customers, you can send a test notification to your own phone after installing your Wallet card. This helps you validate content, tone, and formatting.

Editing a welcome campaign

You can update your welcome campaign at any time. New customers will automatically receive the latest version.

💡 Important: Existing customers will not receive the updated version. Changes apply only to new members.

Notification campaigns

When creating a campaign, you first choose the type of notification you want to send:

  • Standard notification: sent to all (or a segment of) customers who have installed your loyalty card in their Wallet.

  • Geolocated notification: triggered automatically when a customer physically approaches one of your points of sale.

💡 The chosen type orients the creation form to the right parameters.

Standard notifications

For a standard campaign, several fields must be completed to clearly define its content and objective:

  • Campaign name

The campaign name is internal and only visible to your team. It helps you easily identify your campaigns in the Loyoly interface and analyze performance over time.

  • Title (50 characters)

The title should summarize the main message of the notification and give customers a clear reason to open it.

  • Message (170 characters)

The message is designed to activate your customers at a specific moment, for example:

  • Launching a new product

  • Reminding customers of their points

  • Inviting them to discover your loyalty program or complete a specific action

💡 You can customize the notification your client will receive by using the variables provided to you.

A preview is available on the left-hand side of the screen, allowing you to visualize the final rendering of the notification on iOS (Apple) and Android devices before sending.

Send a test

Before sending your notification to all customers, you can send a test notification to your own phone after installing your Wallet card.

Scheduling your notification

When creating your campaign, you can choose the send moment of the notification:

  • Immediate send: the notification is sent as soon as the campaign is activated. Customers will receive it within approximately 5 minutes.

  • Scheduled send: you can plan the notification to be sent at a later date and time, based on your communication strategy.

💡 Scheduling helps you anticipate your communications and reach your customers at the most relevant moment.

✨ Before activating the notification, you can edit its scheduling or cancel it if needed.

Example :

⚠️ Important
Once activated, the campaign cannot be deactivated. Make sure you have carefully reviewed the content and scheduling before activating it.

Geolocated notifications

The geolocated notification is a new type of campaign that allows you to send a message when a customer passes near one of your points of sale. It is a powerful lever for drive-to-store and omnichannel loyalty.

💡 Unlike a standard notification, it is not sent at a single moment: it remains active over a period and is automatically triggered each time a customer passes nearby.

Prerequisites

  • Have imported your stores in Admin → Locations Manager.

  • To measure physical sales generated by your geolocated campaigns, your POS (point of sale) must be connected to Loyoly.

Create a geolocated campaign

  1. In Wallet → Notifications, click on New campaign and select Geolocated notification.

  2. Enter the campaign name (only visible internally) and the message that will be displayed to the customer.

  3. In the Location section, select the targeted points of sale — by name or by tag.

  4. Enter the start date and end date of the campaign (both required).

  5. Schedule or publish the campaign immediately.

💡 Geolocated notifications do not have a Title field — this is a constraint managed by the providers (Apple / Google). Only the message is displayed to the customer.

How it works and limits

  • Eligibility radius: all customers located within a 50 km radius of a selected point of sale are registered in the campaign's geofence.

  • Actual trigger: the notification is then sent natively by Apple or Google when the customer physically approaches the store (approximately 100 meters).

  • Limit per customer: a customer cannot be enrolled in more than 10 active geofences simultaneously. Beyond that, the system automatically prioritizes the most recent campaigns on the closest stores.

  • Store targeted by multiple campaigns: only the priority campaign is activated. When a campaign ends, pending campaigns take over the freed slots.

Measuring the ROI of your notifications

For each notification sent, Loyoly now measures the revenue directly attributed to the campaign. You can compare the performance of your different pushes and demonstrate the impact of your Wallet on your turnover.

How attribution works

  • Standard notification: we track all orders placed by customers who received the notification and who hold their card in the Wallet. If an order is placed within the attribution window after the send, its revenue is credited to the campaign.

  • Geolocated notification: we listen to online and POS orders linked to the points of sale targeted by the campaign. If the order is linked to a customer who owns the Wallet card and who passed near the store, its revenue is attributed to the geolocated notification.

💡 For in-store sales, attribution is only possible if your points of sale are imported via the POS connected to Loyoly. Without this, only online sales will be counted.

Attribution window

You can configure the attribution window applied after sending (or triggering) a notification. It is the window during which an order is considered to be triggered by your push.

💡 The longer the window, the broader the attributed revenue. The shorter it is, the stricter the attribution.

Visualize performance

The performance of your notifications can be viewed in two places:

  • In the list view of Wallet → Notifications: the attributed revenue appears directly next to each campaign, whether standard or geolocated.

  • In the Analytics tab of the Wallet → Notifications section: a chart consolidates the revenue generated by your pushes, with a standard / geolocated distinction, to measure the contribution of each campaign type.
